Resources for Families

Every moment is a teachable moment.

  • Practice Until Mastery Demo

The key to DT is consistently repeating and reinforcing the concepts they are learning in session as often as possible. We need your help to strengthen the neural pathways we are building in DT so that it is most effective. As such, your child has a “Take Home” folder.

The items in the “Keep at Home” pocket of the folder are simply what we covered in session that day and do not need to be returned to school. If a sheet is in the “Keep at Mastery” pocket, please review it with your child until you feel they have mastered it, circling words that they struggle with. You will review only those words the next day. Once a complete sheet is mastered, please add it to the Mastery Binder we provided to continue practicing throughout the year.

  • What are the early warning signs of dyslexia?

Dr. Sally Shaywitz reviews some of the early signs of dyslexia in young children and the importance of early identification during a House Committee Hearing, "The Science of Dyslexia," on September 18, 2014.
